The original developers, the Mackie brothers, created the Deltona Corporation to develop and manage the St Augustine Shores community. Included in the original plan were an elementary school and worship facilities. The original models ranged from a 1 bedroom 1 bath model to 4 bedroom 2 bath homes with 660 to 1448 sq ft. Later development included homes ranging up to 2500 sq ft. There are community facilities such as swimming pools, a community center, boat ramps and a golf course.

Homebuyers today will find these early homes in St Augustine Shores priced in a range from below $100K to $175,000.
